Yarns and technologies in symbiosis: Biella Yarn presents Fall/Winter 2027/2028 collection “New Romance_”

Biella Yarn, the flat knitting brand of Suedwolle Group, launches new Fall/Winter 2027/2028 collection, inspired by the symbiosis of yarns and technologies – elements that blend, adapt and evolve together, forming something new without losing their origin. The name “Neu Romance_” reflects the emotional and neurological dimension of the yarns: a connection that engages the senses, experienced through material, touch and interaction. The collection is further brought to life through design collaborations, featuring selected yarns used in different design approaches.

In parallel, the brand enters the season with a refreshed visual identity, including an updated logo and a more minimal narrative approach.

Driven by the dynamics of an active urban lifestyle, Biella Yarn introduces a new range of yarn blends that extend the sensory performance of Merino wool, transforming garments into versatile “go-to” pieces for everyday life. By using GRS-certified fibres into blends such as Colla TEC Nm 2/30 (55 % Polyester GRS Cationic Moisture Management, Cationic, 45 % Merino Wool Extrafine, Total Easy Care) or Kusi GRS Nm 2/30 (45% Merino Wool Extrafine, Total Easy Care, 55% Polyester GRS Cationic), a more conscious use of materials is supported. Spun using Betaspun® technology, Cache Betaspun RWS GRS Nm 2/48 (70% Merino Wool Extrafine RWS, Total Easy Care; 24% Polyamide GRS 3.3 dtex; 6% filament Polyamide 22 dtex) delivers enhanced strength and durability. The integration of polyamide filament significantly improves abrasion resistance and pilling performance, resulting in fabrics with a clean, sporty and technical appearance.

Blends with natural fibres such as cashmere, linen or alpaca represent the softer, more sensory end of the functional yarn spectrum. This includes CALISORA Nm 2/48 (70% Merino Wool Superfine, Super 120'S, anti-shrinkage, 20% Linen, 10% Cashmere) and INCA Nm 3/16 (50% Merino Wool Fine, anti-shrinkage, 50% Alpaca Superfine).

The classic yarns Victoria Nm 2/30 (100% Merino Extrafine, anti-shrinkage) and Pure X-fine Nm 2/30 (100% Merino Extrafine, untreated) form the foundation for new interpretations in the designs created by Pecoranera, a young designer collective based in Milan/Italy. The project explores the yarn as a shared surface between nature, the human body and textile technology – elements that through interaction merge into a single organism. By applying diverse knitting and weaving techniques, the interplay of creativity and expertise brings out the versatility of these classic yarns.

Another interpretation is presented by Myriam van Eijk through her collection “Sense”, made with Victoria Nm 2/30 (100% Merino Extrafine, anti-shrinkage). The pieces are part of a multisensory couture knitwear collection that merges fashion, design, and neuroscience to foster conscious sensory perception. It was showcased as part of Neo.Fashion during Berlin Fashion Week 2025.

The collection as well as the design interpretations will be presented at the Biella Yarn booth A4 at Pitti Filati in Florence from 24 to 26 June 2026.
