At ITMA Asia Shanghai 2026, Savio will showcase its latest developments in winding and spinning technology, focusing on artificial intelligence, automation and digital integration. The spotlight will be on two machines: the Proxima Smartconer®, Savio’s next-generation winding platform, and the Lybra Smartspinner®, an air-jet spinning solution designed for flexible yarn production and a wide range of textile applications.

Proxima Smartconer® – intelligent winding technology

Savio’s Proxima Smartconer® is now available in a comprehensive range of configurations, including fully automatic operation, manual feeding, cone-to-cone winding, Duo Lot and large bobbin feeding for the carded wool sector.

The winding platform integrates energy-saving technologies, optimised bobbin flow and AI-supported functions. It also incorporates Savio Insight, a web-based system that enables real-time production monitoring and control.

Savio Insight allows operators to perform remote machine setup, track production data and analyse performance, supporting more informed decisions throughout the winding process.

Another development is a newly designed and patented suction nozzle in the preparation area. The component is designed to improve yarn-end capture efficiency while reducing energy consumption. According to Savio, this contributes to higher operational efficiency and lower running costs without compromising reliability or yarn quality.

Additional AI-driven functions include adaptive tension control, smart metering and intelligent bobbin flow management. These technologies are intended to enhance automation, improve process precision and optimise machine performance.

With these developments, the Proxima Smartconer® aims to combine high productivity and consistent yarn quality with reduced energy consumption and comprehensive digital connectivity.

Lybra Smartspinner® – flexible air-jet spinning with integrated fibre blending

Savio’s Lybra Smartspinner® is an air-jet spinning machine developed for specific textile applications, including knitting, home textiles and sunshades. Its spinning technology is designed to provide manufacturers with greater flexibility in yarn production.

A key feature is the Multi Blend System, which enables two slivers to be fed directly into the spinning chamber. The fibres are blended in real time, allowing manufacturers to adjust the blend composition during production without requiring extensive changes to the preparation process.

Blend ratios can be modified directly through the machine PC, enabling on-the-fly adjustments to yarn composition. This flexibility can simplify preparation processes and reduce production costs.

The system also opens up opportunities for developing different material and colour combinations, including mélange effects. By integrating fibre blending directly into the spinning process, Lybra offers manufacturers additional possibilities for product differentiation and flexible production planning.

According to Savio, the Lybra Smartspinner® combines versatility and ease of operation with high production rates and reduced processing costs.

With the Proxima Smartconer® and Lybra Smartspinner®, Savio will demonstrate at ITMA Asia 2026 how intelligent automation, digital process control and flexible spinning technologies can contribute to greater efficiency and adaptability in textile manufacturing.
