Mesdan to showcase laboratory-scale textile recycling solutions at Textiles Recycling Expo 2026

At Stand 2235 during the Textiles Recycling Expo 2026 in Brussels, Mesdan will present laboratory solutions designed to support the development and evaluation of textile-to-textile recycling processes.

A key highlight will be Mesdan's laboratory shredding machine, developed to simulate mechanical textile recycling on a miniature scale. The system is designed for R&D activities, educational applications and the recycling of small batches of textile waste. It can process a wide range of textile materials, including yarns, knitted and woven fabrics, unsold products and post-consumer garments, transforming them back into fiber form for further analysis.

The laboratory shredder has been specifically developed for textile-to-textile recycling applications and can be integrated with the Mesdan-Lab Mini Spinning line. This miniature spinning mill enables the production of small quantities of short- and long-staple yarns, allowing researchers and manufacturers to evaluate the spinnability of recycled fibers before transferring processes to industrial scale.

In addition to recycling simulation, Mesdan will present testing solutions for the characterization of virgin and recycled fibers. The company's portfolio includes instruments for assessing fiber length distribution, neps content, opening quality and tensile properties.

At the exhibition, Mesdan will highlight its TENSOLAB 4 tensile tester, a versatile instrument capable of measuring strength, elongation and tenacity in fibers, fiber bundles and textile materials. Such testing capabilities are becoming increasingly important as the textile industry seeks to improve the quality and consistency of recycled fiber feedstocks.

The Textiles Recycling Expo 2026 will take place on 24–25 June in Brussels, bringing together companies and organizations involved in textile recycling, circularity and sustainable material solutions.
