The ITM 2026 International Textile Machinery Exhibition, to be held at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul from June 9–13, 2026, brings together groundbreaking technologies in denim production. Türkiye is the EU's most important supplier of denim fabric

With its advanced technology, strong logistics infrastructure, and high-quality, flexible, fast, and error-free production capabilities, Türkiye is among the top choices for international denim fabric manufacturers, thanks to the quality of its denim fabrics.

Thanks to its strong fabric infrastructure and designers, Türkiye is a supplier of many world-renowned denim brands and leverages its proximity to Europe as a geographical advantage. According to the World Denim Fabric Sector Foreign Trade Report published by the Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters' Association (ITHIB), Türkiye is among the EU's most important denim fabric suppliers. Single-handedly accounting for 25.4 percent of the EU's denim fabric imports in 2024, Türkiye ranks fourth globally with an export performance of $291 million. In addition to denim fabric, Türkiye is also a major player in the ready-to-wear sector. With $3.5 billion in denim apparel exports in 2024, Türkiye ranked fourth globally and is the second-largest supplier to the EU market, following Bangladesh.

Eco-friendly and sustainable Turkish denim: The preference of global brands

Türkiye, known for producing high-quality denim fabrics, is not only creating world-renowned brands but also developing technologies to produce denim through eco-friendly methods while maintaining the centuries-old tradition of denim. Turkish denim manufacturers, with the motto "Respect for the environment, respect for the world," are at the forefront of sustainable denim production. Collaborating with international certification organizations, Turkish manufacturers are leading the way by producing collections made from 100% organic and 100% recyclable fabrics.

Textile climate control system in workwear – exhibition at the 2026 SME Innovation Day!

Conventional protective workwear often reaches its limits during strenuous physical activity. In particular, the transport of sweat and excess body heat poses a problem. The German Institutes of Textile and Fiber Research (DITF) conducted research on flow-optimized, air-conducting textile structures that enable targeted climate control directly on the body.
