Getzner Textil launches new getzspace® three-dimensional weaving at Functional Fabric Fair

Intended to increase performance and reduce waste, getzspace® reduces the need for seams in three-dimensional structures

Getzner Textil AG, global leaders in technical textiles made for a wide range of applications, is proud to announce the launch of their new getzspace® three-dimensional weaving technology.

Set to revolutionize how performance and protective apparel is made, getzspace® will allow brands to create next generation technical clothing by reducing the need for seams in pockets and reinforcements. New garments made with the getzspace® technique will be more comfortable and more durable, all while reducing waste from the cut-and-sew process.

getzspace® works by enabling three-dimensional structures such as pockets and reinforcements to be integrated directly into the textile surface, without the need for seams and stitching. The result is high-performance textiles with low weight and high resilience, opening up new possibilities for the design and functionality of modern performance and protective workwear.

Getzner Textil will introduce the new getzspace® technology at the Functional Fabric Fair in Portland this fall, exhibiting in booth #234. Getzner will also present a wide selection of other fabrics during Functional Fabric Fair, underscoring the diversity of their product line and high standard of functionality, comfort, and safety, all developed through decades of textile manufacturing resource-efficient production processes in Europe.

Getzner Textil considers closure of Swiss weaving mill Russikon

WR Weberei Russikon AG, which belongs to Getzner Textil AG, produces high-quality jacquard fabrics in Switzerland. This raw material is intended exclusively for the African market. In view of the global economic situation and the associated reduced demand in this area, Getzner Textil AG is reviewing its production planning and is considering the closure of the Swiss site in this context.

Following the last Focus Topic in October 2025, which placed Textile-to-Textile Recycling at its core, PERFORMANCE DAYS continues to drive the conversation around circularity – this time with an expanded and more upstream perspective. The upcoming Focus Topic, “Textile to Textile: The Role of Collectors and Sorters,” presented during the spring edition on March 18–19, will spotlight one of the most essential yet often overlooked components of a functioning circular textile system: the efficient collection and sorting of post-consumer textiles.

Circulose restarts commercial-scale production at Ortviken plant in Sundsvall

Circulose today announced the restart of its commercial-scale production plant at Ortviken in Sundsvall, Sweden, marking a significant step in scaling next-generation materials for the global fashion industry. Sustainable, lightweight, and sound absorbing: Polyester-based front trunk solution for BEVs

As car manufacturers look to further reduce their carbon footprint, Autoneum has developed an innovative front trunk solution for battery electric vehicles (BEVs), made entirely from polyester-based textile. The Ultra-Silent Frunk offers significant weight reduction, improved acoustic and thermal insulation, and uses up to 70 percent recycled material, supporting sustainable and efficient vehicle design.
