Kordsa, a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding, shared its global expertise in material technologies with participants at JEC World 2026, held in Paris. The company’s solutions developed for a wide range of industries—particularly aviation, energy, and automotive—stood out among its key innovations at the exhibition. Throughout the event, Kordsa also presented its vision for sustainable growth and its strategic transformation in composite technologies to international stakeholders.

Recognized as one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive gatherings for composite materials and technologies, JEC World took place on March 10–12, 2026, in Paris, France. Bringing together the entire value chain of the composites ecosystem under one roof, the event provided an important platform where Kordsa highlighted its capabilities and growth focus in composite technologies.

Alongside its operations in Türkiye, Kordsa attended the exhibition together with its U.S.-based subsidiaries Fabric Development Inc., Textile Products Inc., and Axiom Materials Inc., as well as Italy-based Microtex Composites Srl.. With a strategy shaped in line with evolving global market dynamics, the company showcased its innovative solutions to participants at JEC World 2026.

KORDSA’S COMPOSITE SOLUTIONS ADDRESS CRITICAL NEEDS

Among Kordsa’s highlighted solutions at JEC World 2026 were Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) technologies, thermoplastic-based interior component solutions developed for automotive applications, structural body parts, and carbon-reinforced prepreg products. These solutions deliver high performance with lower weight while contributing to increased production efficiency and a reduced carbon footprint. Advanced composite solutions developed for the aviation and energy sectors address critical requirements such as high-temperature resistance, long service life, and reliability.

“WE CONTINUE TO BE AN ACTIVE PART OF THE TRANSFORMATION”

Commenting on the exhibition, Kordsa CEO Ergun Hepvar stated:

“JEC World is one of the most important global meeting points in the field of composite technologies. On this platform, which brings together the entire value chain of the industry, we have the opportunity to closely observe both the current state of technologies and the trends that will shape the future. This year, we clearly saw that solutions focused on sustainability, lightweighting, high performance, and production efficiency are becoming increasingly decisive. At the same time, we witnessed a transformation in customer expectations toward more integrated, agile, and sustainable solutions. As Kordsa, we will continue to be an active part of this transformation and to develop value-creating solutions together with our customers.”

“COMPOSITE TECHNOLOGIES ARE SHAPING KORDSA’S PRESENT AND FUTURE”

Emphasizing that Kordsa differentiates itself in composite technologies by offering an end-to-end integrated structure—from R&D and serial production to supply chain and certification processes—Ergun Hepvar added:

“The increasing demand for advanced material solutions further strengthens our position in composites. We position composite technologies as one of our two strategic focus areas in Kordsa’s future. In this field, we adopt an approach that expands technological depth, product diversity, and application areas simultaneously. Composite technologies stand out as a core area shaping both Kordsa’s present and future. Our goal is to deepen our capabilities here, build a structure that generates higher added value, differentiates itself, and grows together with its customers.”

Fewer pores, greater impact tolerance: Peter Dornier Foundation Prize 2026 honours material research on fibre-reinforced composite components for aerospace industry

Microscopically small pores that form during manufacture, or barely visible impact damage, can severely impair the load-bearing capacity and service life of fibre-reinforced composite components. Two young researchers have presented groundbreaking work in this field and will both be awarded the 2026 Peter Dornier Foundation Prize: Dr.-Ing. Benedikt Neitzel from the Technical University of Ilmenau for his doctoral thesis on pore minimisation in the RTM process, and Johanna Buschmann, M.Sc., for her master’s thesis, completed at the German Aerospace Centre, on the improved impact tolerance of 3D fabrics compared to 2D laminates.
